Sidewalk survey · Meralco Avenue, Pasig
One phone video, measured metre by metre with two off-the-shelf vision models and no training. Each strip below is one attribute of the sidewalk, laid along the metres walked; every measurement is filed at the spot it describes, not where the camera stood.
Hover or drag across the strips to see the spot. Arrow keys step a metre (Shift: 10).
Only the first few metres are a usable sidewalk. Beside the parked fire trucks (0+000 to about 0+007) there is a tiled sidewalk with a railing between you and the road. Even there, planters, a bollard and the railing leave a clear path of roughly 1.0 to 1.4 m.
Most of the walk is in the road. From about 0+009 to 0+047 (12 to 58 s), the sidewalk first breaks up and is then lined with parked motorcycles, a parked car, orange water barriers and yellow barricades. You walk outside them in the curb lane, with motorcycles coming head-on between 24 and 31 s. That is also the loudest part of the video.
The last stretch is sidewalk again, in poor shape. From about 0+047 to the crosswalk at the end, the concrete is cracked and patched. Vans and SUVs are parked on it between you and the traffic, utility poles stand in the walking line, and the gutter beside it holds water.
What the counts miss. A parked motorcycle hides the pavement it stands on, so the model often can't tell it is on the sidewalk, and the "car or motorcycle on sidewalk" strip undercounts them. Puddles were flagged mostly in the road gutter (26 to 45 s). One walk can't say whether they are permanent.
